Reaching out with Christ's love

Help us serve.

  • Food to You Mobile Food Pantry

    Every 3rd Thursday @ ALC

    Food Distribution 6:00-7:00 pm

Augustana Lutheran Church has a long history of reaching out to its neighbors including through providing food. In collaboration with Charis Ministry Partners, ALC opens its doors and parking lot on the 3rd Thursday of each month as one of four site hosts for this drive-through food pantry.

(Other sites: Messiah New Hope Lutheran Church, St. John American Lutheran Church, and Eastside Lutheran Church)

“Food to You” helps get groceries and household items to those who need them.

  • Pueblo de Dios

Pueblo de Dios congregation worships every Sunday at 12:30pm at Augustana Lutheran Church, and is led by Pastor Maria Cabello Salomon.

In August of 2008, Augustana Lutheran Church and the South Dakota Synod of the ELCA took a bold and faithful new step in its ministry and self-understanding.

Recognizing the diverse neighborhood in which we are set, and focused on ALC’S vision to "Renew & Reach Out with Christ", the ministry of Pueblo de Dios began to form from within the heart of our church, striving to minister to our neighborhood and wider Sioux Falls community.

Primarily a Spanish-language and bilingual community, Pueblo de Dios is an important, faith-filled ministry. Augustana Lutheran Church and Pueblo de Dios are two communities with unique identities and gifts, committed to finding ways to minister together in the world.

  • Neighborhood Block Party

Augustana Lutheran Church and Pueblo de Dios congregations "team up" each fall to reach out to our immediate neighbors. Great food, activities for all ages, music, and more. This past year we served 400 tamales!

  • Thanksgiving Meal

For 13 years ALC has provided a free (pre-)Thanksgiving Meal for people in the community, served in mid-November. Recently, ALC has partnered with Church on the Street (ELCA ministry in Sioux Falls) to serve the meal in conjunction with their monthly worship service.
